| Spigot's location gives us easy access to both High
and Low moor gallops which includes a 7 furlong A/W on
Low moor and 1/2 mile A/W on High moor. Low moor's turf
gallops, although open 12 months of the year, are invariably
used as winter gallops, while High moor's 1.5 miles of
turf gallops are open from May to November each year offering
a safe, consistent surface during the summer months.
The modern Spigot lodge was re-built in 1970. The main
yard consists of 50 exceptional brick built stables
where ventilation and safety for the horse was given
priority. Separate isolation yards, comprising ten and
thirteen stables, give Spigot a capacity of 73. Complimenting
these are the superb stable yards set in acres of manicured
gardens. Spigot offers all 'mod-cons' needed to train
the modern thoroughbred including; horse walker, lunge
rings and Middleham's only indoor ride, an invaluable
asset for the schooling and breaking of your horse.
Adjacent to the entrance of Spigot Lodge is the Middleham
Equine Pool. This superb facility houses a veterinary
centre offering x-ray, scoping, scanning and blood testing
facilities.
All facilities are within a stone's throw for horses
trained at Spigot Lodge.
